KEOKUK, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Friday┬áthe agencies working on a sexual abuse investigation involving a staff member at a southeast Iowa boarding school have finished executing two search warrants.

The search warrants were executed Thursday at the Midwest Academy campus in Keokuk and the Midwest Treatment Center in Montrose.

Officials said the investigation stemmed from the alleged sexual abuse of a former student at the Midwest Academy by a staff member. Only one allegation of abuse has been made involving the academy, which is a therapeutic boarding school.

The Iowa Department of Human Services has been called in to help with the case and has conducted 28 assessments.

The FBI is investigating as well and has a separate federal investigation underway.

No charges have been filed in the case at this time.
