DES MOINES, Iowa — There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place until Noon Wednesday due to blowing snow in parts of central and northwest Iowa.

Wind gusts will be around 35-40 mph this morning which will create blowing snow, reducing visibility for drivers. Visibility will be under a half mile at times and drivers are advised to drive cautiously.

Roads will be in poor shape throughout at least the first half of the day.

All of the falling snow will be wrapped up by sunrise. Temperatures will drop into the 20s during the day with the winds staying strong out of the NW.

Things will warm up starting Wednesday however, with a shot at 40 degrees this weekend.
