AMES, Iowa -- Jameel McKay missed his third game in the last two weeks but Iowa State still won 92-83 over TCU.

McKay was not suspended and did suit up, but did not play because of a coaches decision. Steve Prohm would not elaborate after the game on why McKay didn't play, just saying it was his decision.

McKay sat out games at Oklahoma State and Texas Tech earlier this month.

Despite McKay being out, ISU beat the Horned Frogs behind 27 points from Georges Niang. Abdel Nader scored 24 while Deonte Burton chipped in 23.

Iowa State improves to 19-8 overall and 8-6 in the Big 12.

The Cyclones now travel to West Virginia Monday night. Prohm says McKay will be available to play against the Mountaineers.
