KNOXVILLE, Iowa — A Knoxville woman who is facing several charges related to theft from an 80-year-old nursing home patient is now facing more charges.
Knoxville Police Lt. Aaron Fuller said 42-year-old Wanda Sue Vanwyk has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Fuller said the charge is a result of a search warrant at Vanwyk’s home in rural Marion County. She was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail.
Vanwyk was arrested earlier this month after allegations surfaced that she stole from a resident at the West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Family of the alleged victim said Vanwyk, who was a nurse’s aide, stole an 80-year-old woman’s credit card and $300 cash. Police say Vanwyk spent or charged a total of $1,250.
No other information about Vanwyk’s latest arrest has been released.
