City officials say that access will be maintained to those who live and work in the area.

About 13,000 vehicles travel on Northwest 70th Avenue per day, the city says.  The improvements will allow for 20,000-26,000 vehicles per day, which is how much the city expects traffic to grow by 2035.

The improvements are expected to be completed in late fall of this year.
