DECORAH, Iowa — The Decorah Eagles are keeping things consistent. The world-famous pair welcomed another egg to their nest Thursday night, bringing to total number of eggs to three.

The Raptor Resource Project, which operates the cameras aimed at the eagles’ nest, confirmed a third egg was laid at 6:59 p.m. Thursday. It’s the 26th egg the pair has incubated since the RRP began keeping tabs on the eagles.

The eagle pair has routinely had three eggs a season.

The first egg of 2016 was laid on February 18th and the second was on February 22nd.

The RRP is anticipating the first hatch to be around March 27th because the incubation period for eagle eggs is 35-37 days.
