Teens Armed with Bricks, Hammer Arrested for Assaulting 12-Year-Old Iowa Boy

DAVENPORT, Iowa — A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition with a head injury after he was assaulted Tuesday.

According to WQAD, police were dispatched to the 1900 block of West 4th Street after a call came in about an assault about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The child was found near Monroe Elementary School, but police have not said if there is any connection between the alleged assault and the school.

Davenport police arrested three 15-year-old boys and have been charged with willful injury with serious injury and going armed with intent. Police said the teens were armed with bricks and a hammer.

The three teens are currently in juvenile detention. Additional charges are pending and the incident is still under investigation, WQAD reports.

The identity of the victim and the suspects have not been released.
