DES MOINES, Iowa -- A storm system crossing the Midwest will bring showers and isolated storms across central Iowa overnight into Tuesday morning.

Scattered showers are possible after midnight, with storms after 3 a.m. Most of the rain will be out of central Iowa by 10 a.m. but could linger through the afternoon in eastern Iowa.

Some hail is possible near the Iowa-Missouri border.

Winds will be strong from the south on Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the low 60s. The rest of the week will be drier and cooler with highs returning to the 50s and 40s.

There's another shot at some showers on Saturday as temperatures cool into the 40s.
