WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Friday marks the five-year anniversary since a realtor was shot and killed in West Des Moines.

On April 11, 2011, Ashley Okland, 27, was shot and killed while working as a realtor in a West Des Moines townhome. No one has been charged in the case.

As of today, authorities have investigated nearly 800 leads and contacted nearly 400 people.

“As we pass this tragic milestone, we are asking those who can bring this information to light to come forward and help provide closure to those affected by the loss of this successful and vibrant young woman,” West Des Moines officials said Friday.

West Des Moines Police say that after five years, the case is still considered an active investigation.

Police told Channel 13 News that they have been working to solve the crime, but say they know they’re missing a crucial piece of the puzzle. They believe someone has information that would unmask Okland’s killer and hope a $150,000  reward will encourage that person to come forward.

Investigators say they still receive tips in the case and examine each one.
