DES MOINES, Iowa — The Civic Center is bringing another Broadway show to Des Moines.

Des Moines Performing Arts announced Monday that “Hamilton” has been added to the 2017-2018 season of the Willis Broadway Series.

“Hamilton” is the story of Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s founding fathers and an immigrant from the West Indies. He became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. According to Des Moines Performing Arts, the show features a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway.

The “Hamilton” recording received a 2016 Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album.

Performance dates and ticket prices have not been announced, however, current Willis Broadway Series season ticket holders will be guaranteed seats to “Hamilton” by renewing their packages for the 2017-2018 season.
