MAHASKA COUNTY, Iowa — The victim in a Mahaska County death investigation has been identified.

On April 7, the Mahaska County Sherriff’s Office responded to 1242 Yale Avenue in Barnes City, Iowa, on a report of a victim who’d been hit and killed by a vehicle. The victim was Courtney Christine Moore, 24, of What Cheer, Iowa.

The man driving the vehicle that hit Moore was Trenton Dwayne Garber, 26, of Montezuma, Iowa. Garber is an ex-boyfriend of Moore, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
