DECORAH, Iowa — Police have arrested a man whose threats prompted a district-wide lockdown Monday.

The Decorah Police Department says it began investigating the harassment of three Decorah teachers on Saturday after Bruce Divers Jr. sent an email to the school “expressing his displeasure with the content of some of the curriculum at the school,” police said.

On Monday, Divers allegedly posted information on Facebook that threatened the welfare of two teachers.

He was arrested for two counts of second-degree harassment and one count of third-degree harassment. Police say on Tuesday, Divers was served a no bond arrest warrant while he was incarcerated at the Winneshiek County Jail.

The probation violation charge stems from events that recently occurred with members of the Decorah school staff. Divers is being held without bail at the Winneshiek County Jail.

The lockdown was lifted at Decorah schools, and operations are back to normal Tuesday.
