Man Killed While Turkey Hunting

FAYETTE, Iowa - A northeast Iowa man is dead after being injured while turkey hunting.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources said the incident happened at about 3 p.m. Saturday near Maynard in Fayette County.

Michael Adams, 63, was hit in the face and chest area by shot from a 12-gauge shotgun fired from another hunter in his hunting party. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
