Flood Warnings Issued for Des Moines River, Raccoon River

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for both the Des Moines River and Raccoon River.

The weather service says the Des Moines River has already risen 20 feet and will continue to rise. The flood warning is in effect until Friday evening.

The Raccoon River near George Flagg Parkway is also expected to reach flood stage Sunday night and areas around the river are already blocked off. It's risen 13 feet and the flood warning is in effect until Thursday afternoon.
