AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s Deonte Burton has officially submitted paperwork to withdraw his name from the upcoming NBA Draft, the university announced Tuesday.

Burton will return to Ames for his senior season after averaging 9.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game last year following a transfer from Marquette.

The Big 12 Newcomer of the Year initially decided to take advantage of the NCAA rule that allows underclassman to declare for the NBA Draft while still having the opportunity to return to school before the May 25 deadline as long as the player doesn’t hire an agent.
