ANKENY, Iowa — After finishing seventh in the Kentucky Derby, Ankeny-owned horse Brody’s Cause will skip the Preakness on May 21.

The decision, confirmed by Albaugh Family Stables, was made so Brody’s Cause could train up for the Belmont Stakes on June 11.

By skipping the Preakness, Brody’s Cause will now have the chance to prove his class and stamina with added training against the best 3-year-olds in the country in New York.
