DES MOINES, Iowa — A metro church is making a call to end gun violence Thursday.
Members of Des Moines’ St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church will wear orange Thursday as part of a nationwide movement. Organizers chose orange because it’s used to warn hunters not to shoot.
Bishop Alan Scarfe with the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa sent out a letter to the congregation asking all to take part.
The church will also hold a peaceful gathering in honor of the movement Thursday at 6:00 p.m. It is being held at 5720 Urbandale Avenue in Des Moines.
