Wednesday's murder-suicide on the UCLA campus is now being investigated as a double murder across two states.

Police discovered a hit list at the suspect's Minnesota residence that led them to another victim found shot to death in her home near Minneapolis.

Investigators have identified the gunman as 39-year-old Mainak Sarkar, a 2013 Ph.D. graduate of the UCLA School of Engineering.

"A list was located that had professor Klug's name on it, another UCLA professor's name on it and the name of the female victim that was later located in the nearby town," Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck confirmed Thursday.

That female victim has not been identified, nor has the second professor that Sarkar targeted. That professor wasn't on campus Wednesday and is okay.

Meanwhile, family and friends are mourning the loss of UCLA Professor William Klug, a married father of two young children.
