DEXTER, Iowa -- The driver and passenger of a car involved in a single-vehicle crash along I-80 near the Redfield-Dexter exit on Friday afternoon are both expected to survive.
Authorities were sent to the scene of the crash near Dexter at approximately 3 p.m.
According to police on the scene, the passenger of the vehicle in the crash noticed the driver having a hard time driving while on the interstate. The passenger told the driver to get off at the Redfield-Dexter exit before the crash ultimately occurred. The vehicle was found rolled over in a ditch.
Both are now expected to survive, investigators say.
The crash was believed to have been caused by the driver's medical condition, possibly a diabetic condition that caused the driver to lose control.
