NFL Twitter Hacked, Making Hoax Death Announcement

NFL’s Twitter account was allegedly hacked Tuesday when the account tweeted a death announcement:

“We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP”

NBC Nightly News was quick to report that the NFL’s Twitter account was hacked.

“Commissioner Goodell ‘alive and well,'” the NFL told NBC.

 The tweet was deleted almost immediately after it was posted, but some of us were quick enough to capture a screenshot.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also confirmed that the account was hacked, but the hacked tweets continued.

All three tweets have since been deleted and Goodell is alive and well.
