Centennial, Pella Advance to State Title Games

DES MOINES, Iowa  -- On a scorching day at Cownie Soccer Complex, the girls' state soccer championship games are set.

In Class 3A, No. 2 Centennial came from behind to beat No. 3 Waukee, 2-1.  Meg Brandt scored the game-winner.  The Jaguars will play defending champ Iowa City West in the 3A final on Saturday.

In Class 2A, No. 1 Pella continued to roll.  The Lady Dutch cruised to a 5-2 over No. 5 Sioux City Heelan. Pella will play No. 2 Lewis Central on Saturday for the title.

And in Class 1A, No. 4 Nevada lost to top-ranked Davenport Assumption, 2-0.  The Knights will play Iowa City Regina for the championship.
