Body Found in Des Moines River, Authorities Investigating

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Polk County deputies are investigating a body found in the Des Moines River on Saturday night.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., Polk County dispatch received a report of a body floating in the river near Yellow Banks Park. Emergency crews recovered the body of an adult Asian man at about 9 p.m.

The body was transported to the Polk County Medical Examiner’s Office and an autopsy is also scheduled.

Polk County detectives continue to investigate this case.
