MUSCATINE, Iowa — The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several reports of “men dressed in black” alongside county roads.

The men were spotted entering the roadway in rural Muscatine County, and authorities are following leads that have been shared through several Facebook posts.

Some witnesses say they’ve seen the suspects along Iowa Highway 22, west of Muscatine. Some have reported the men in black stand along the highway, while others say they’ve seen the suspects step onto the roadway while cars drive by.

The sheriff’s office says the men in black are not associated with any crimes, but the department does consider the situation to be a safety concern.

The Muscatine County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who spots the men in black to call 911.
