JOHNSTON, Iowa — Police in Johnston are hoping the public can help them identify a suspect who took money from another person’s account during an unauthorized ATM transaction.

Police say the incident happened June 12th at the Veridian Credit Union at 5401 NW 86th St. in Johnston. The victim used the drive-up ATM and did not completely close out of the transaction before they left. That allowed the person in the next vehicle access to their account.

The suspect appeared to be driving a 4-door Chevy sedan and withdrew cash from the victim’s account.

Police have released images of the suspect taken from ATM surveillance video. If you have any information on the woman in the photos you’re asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 223-1400. Tips can be provided anonymously.
