FONDA, Iowa- The big storm front crossing Iowa overnight left some damage in the Pocahontas County town of Fonda.

Police Chief Alex Leu said he was getting reports of power out, and when he checked the south end of town he found numerous trees uprooted, or sheared off.

The Mid American Wind Turbine shop had a 6 inch tree branch go through a wall of the building, and the south side of the shop suffered some damage.

"It was a very isolated short little event, to have the tops of the trees ripped off like they were, so it was intense,” said Leu. “Basically it just extends down on the south end of town, about a quarter-mile wide, and about a half mile long.”
