WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- The warm temperature Saturday drew dozens of golfers to the greens but at a local course, the score isn't what's most important.

The Iowa Amputee Golf Tournament is taking place at the Willow Creek Golf Course this weekend. It's a chance for amputees and able-bodied players to share in a sport they enjoy together.

"It's enjoying the game of golf, rehabbing yourself mentally and physically and surrounding yourself with people that have positive energy and are positive people," said Nick Ackerman of the Iowa Amputee Golf Association.

It's the 25th year for the event and every year the event raises money for amputee scholarship funds.

The tournament continues Sunday.
