DES MOINES, Iowa - A Des Moines doctor's office found a fun way to honor two of its patients.

Sam Brunk and Eileen McCormick both have birthdays around the same time. Sam is turning 100 on July 19th and on July 10th, Eileen turned 102.

Dr. Robert Shires said both still live at home and are proof that people are living longer by making good decisions. "Don’t smoke. You have to  eat well balanced, life is moderation, stay active, do things  you enjoy with someone that you enjoy for a very long time," Dr. Shires said.

McCormick and Brunk were married for more than 70 years each to their spouses and credit their longevity to staying active.

"Keeping busy and staying outside a lot, just live every day as it comes, " McCormick said.

Brunk agrees, "I always enjoyed keeping busy and I think that’s what you gotta do, you gotta move and that’s what I do.”

Happy Birthday Eileen and Sam!
