Substate baseball started on Saturday for the large schools and there were already some great games in the first round.

Roosevelt scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally and beat Lincoln 2-1. Stephen Loew had the walk-off game-winning RBI.

And the battle for Ankeny pride goes to the Hawks. Ankeny upset Centennial 7-6 in eight innings to advance. Ryan Kirschman produced the game-winning hit for the Hawks in the top of the eighth.

Roosevelt and Ankeny will meet Monday in the substate semifinal.
