JOHNSTON, Iowa — A big decision lies ahead Wednesday in the world of agriculture.

Dow Chemical and DuPont Pioneer are considering a merger worth $120 billion.

Wednesday, stockholders meet to decide on it. If the merger passes, Dow and DuPont Pioneer would split into three separate companies.

Johnston’s DuPont Pioneer branch would then become home to the company’s research and development branch.
