Suspect in Marshalltown Shooting Charged With Attempted Murder After Turning Himself In

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa -- A man wanted in connection with a Saturday shooting in Marshalltown is now in custody and has been charged.

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 100 block of North Center Street.

Upon arrival, police say they found 47-year-old Dustin Inman with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say 45-year-old Perry DeWalt has been charged with attempted murder and going armed with intent in this case after turning himself into police Monday evening.

Authorities initially blocked off the area around North Center Street for several hours trying to find the DeWalt.
