CLIVE, Iowa — The body of a woman found behind a condominium complex in Clive Wednesday has been identified.

Clive police say the body is that of 54-year-old Sandra Bland, who was reported missing from her home Monday night. Police say Bland was suicidal at the time of her disappearance.

A search was conducted in the area of her home, 15177 Hawthorne Drive, that night but it was hampered by darkness. Searchers began looking for her again on Tuesday.

Police say a television service employee discovered the body of a female at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, while doing work behind the condo complex at 2128 NW 156th Street.

The body has been identified as Sandra Bland and officials say evidence found at the scene supports her death was consistent with suicide. An official autopsy will be performed to confirm the cause of death.
