INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — Johnston Little League is on its way to Williamsport.

Johnston beat Frontenac (Kansas) 3-0 in the Midwest Regional Final to punch their ticket to the Little League World Series.

Miles Risley provided the big hit, a two-run homerun in the second inning. Kaiden Dinh was lights out on the mound, pitching five innings and giving up just two hits while striking out eight.

It’s the first team from Johnston Little League to ever make the World Series. Three years ago, Urbandale represented Iowa at the LLWS.

Johnston’s first game in Williamsport will be next Friday, Aug 19 at 3 p.m CT against the West representative.
