Madison County Authorities Investigating Incident Involving Neglect of Livestock

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa -- Authorities in Madison County are investigating an incident involving numerous dead cattle and complete lack of care for the livestock.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 3123 State Hwy 92 in Madison County in reference to a "livestock neglect" investigation.

Authorities say during the investigation, dead cattle were discovered and the remaining cattle present were found to be in very bad condition and in need of immediate care. A seizure of all cattle was conducted during the search warrant.

A total of 36 head of cattle were seized and taken to another location so they could begin receiving care.

The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
