WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Valley High School senior recently accomplished a feat not many students can match.
After taking the ACT for the final time, Evan Burnham scored a perfect score of 36 on the test, which is made up of English, math, reading and science.
Burnham says he's a pretty good test taker but was also extremely prepared. He studied for the test for about a month.
According to ACT.org, out of the nearly 2.1 million students in the graduating class of 2017, only about 2,000 of them will earn the perfect score.
Burnham plans to study chemistry or biology in college.
His advice to those who plan on taking the test is to give yourself plenty of time to study.
