DE SOTO, Iowa -- A group of University of Iowa Military Veteran Students are on a Ruck March this week.

They are pairing with Military Veterans at the University of Nebraska to carry the Husker-Hawkeye game ball from Lincoln to Iowa City.

The two friendly rivals are working together for a serious cause to raise awareness of veteran suicide. The groups say around 22 veterans commit suicide each day in this country.

The Ruck Marchers are asking people to be aware of veterans in their life who may be struggling.

The groups met near Stuart on Monday at the Freedom Rock to hand the football from the Nebraska students to the Iowa students.

The march will get into Tiffin Thursday night and arrive Friday at the Nile Kinnick Statue outside the Kinnick Stadium.
