WAUKEE, Iowa — Downtown Waukee will be abuzz with holiday cheer Friday night.

The town’s Winterfest celebration returns to the triangle district starting at 4:30 p.m. That’s when businesses in the area start hosting open houses.

At 6:00 p.m. the main event happens, Santa’s arrival. He and the mayor will do the honors of lighting the Winterfest tree.

There will also be ice sculpting, caroling, and plenty of activities for the kids.

Admission is free, but you’re encouraged to bring a food or toy donation.
