DES MOINES, Iowa – The man charged with the murders of two metro police officers has pleaded not guilty.

Online court records show 46-year-old Scott Greene, of Urbandale, entered a written plea of not guilty Wednesday in Polk County Court. A demand for a speedy trial was also made. He faces two counts of first degree murder.

Greene was arrested after officials say he shot and killed Des Moines police officer Sgt. Tony Beminio and Urbandale Officer Justin Martin in the early morning hours of Nov. 2nd. Both officers were shot in their vehicles.

A trial date has not yet been scheduled.
