URBANDALE, Iowa — A police case in Urbandale is serving as another holiday reminder.

Officers released images taken from surveillance cameras of a man who rang the doorbell of a home in the Patricia Park neighborhood near 86th and Hickman, and when no one answered, he tried to break in.

“As the holiday seasons approach be careful of your packages, make sure you lock your doors. You have a lot of valuables especially additional valuables lying around during the holiday season,” says Sgt. Chad Underwood with the Urbandale Police Department.

Police say the homeowner was actually inside at the time of the attempted break-in. They just weren’t able to get to the door in time.

The man is believed to be driving a white Chevy Tahoe and officers believe two other people may also be involved.

If you have any information about the case, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 515-223-1400.
