Grassland Fires in Monroe County Prompt Numerous Calls to Authorities

MONROE COUNTY, Iowa  —  Authorities at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office say they have been receiving calls about fires all weekend.

As of Sunday afternoon, the office had received around 30 calls.

Officials say most of the fires occurred on grassland or farmland, and luckily no injuries have been reported.
