One Man Injured in Sunday Night Shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa — A Sunday night shooting in Des Moines sent one person to the hospital.

Police say the shooting was the result of a heated argument. Just after 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the 900 block of Forest Avenue. There they found one person injured.

Police say the incident began when a man started arguing with a group of people. The argument escalated and police say multiple shots were fired in the area.

One man was hit in the leg, and carried to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

Authorities spent much of the night working the scene to gather evidence. At the moment, they do not have any leads in the investigation.

The name of the victim has not been released.
