Soldier Awarded Purple Heart in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON D.C.  --  President Trump honored an injured soldier over the weekend.

The president awarded the Purple Heart to Army Sergeant First Class Alvero Barrientos, who lost part of his leg in Afghanistan.

This was the president's first visit to Walter Reed Hospital since taking office. At the ceremony, he said he plans to address veterans issues in a press conference on Thursday.
