E.P.A. Head Agrees That Des Moines Superfund Site Needs to Develop, But When?

DES MOINES, Iowa  --  It's difficult to find a place in Des Moines--perhaps, difficult to find many places anywhere in the state--that is a bigger blight on a city than the old, abandoned Dico Inc. site southwest of downtown. City leaders hope to clean up the site and find a future development that could connect to several other large projects on that part of town. But lawsuits and the federal government have stood in the way.

That may soon change.

Political Director Dave Price talked to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt about efforts to redevelop superfund sites, like Des Moines, all over the country.
