DES MOINES, Iowa  --  Iowa's recovery from the drought of 2017 is moving in the right direction.

The latest drought map for the state of Iowa shows just 48% of the state is still in drought conditions.  That's down from 55% of the state last week.

The news is not all good.  The portion of south central Iowa in extreme drought remained unchanged from last week.
