EVANSDALE, Iowa  --  The cold has created a big problem with the water in Evansdale.

City leaders say the town's water tower has frozen over. They are now using a different pump to keep at least some water flowing. Leaders say water pressure will be extremely low and that home owners should boil all water before using.

The city has also come up with a plan to thaw the water tower, despite freezing temperatures. Mayor Doug Faas said crews will bring power washers to the tower and pump heated water in to melt the ice. If this plan works, full water service could be restored sometime on Thursday.
