POLK COUNTY, Iowa  --  They came, they voted, but too many said no to the local option sales tax for the cities that were banking on the extra tax money.

Some thought if Des Moines and West Des Moines go for the plan to raise the sales tax another penny, that would carry the rest of the county; but that's not so.

Jamie Fitzgerald, the Polk County Auditor, discusses this with Political Director Dave Price.
