Polk County Deputy OK After Squad Vehicle Hit by Pickup Truck

POLK COUNTY, Iowa – A Polk County Deputy was checked out at the hospital this morning after his patrol vehicle was struck from behind while he was assisting with another accident on I-35 near Ankeny.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 6:20 a.m. on southbound I-35  at the 88.5 mile marker.

A truck lost control and hit the back of Deputy Brian Anderson’s SUV. The deputy didn’t suffer any noticeable injuries but was taken to the hospital to be checked out and he was released.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the accident.
