Fire Breaks Out at Fort Dodge Prison

FORT DODGE, Iowa -- Firefighters battled flames at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on Friday.

Officials believe the fire started on the roof of one of the prison housing units around 2 p.m. Contractors were conducting repairs to the roof when the fire started, according to officials.

The fire is now under control. Officials said all prison staff, contractors and inmates are accounted for.
