    NORWALK, Iowa  —  Watch out, Ed Wilson … these kids are coming for your job.   • Clive Police Still Looking for Driver Who Hit Teenager on Sidewalk

    CLIVE, Iowa  —  The Clive Police Department is still searching for the driver who hit and injured a teenager on a sidewalk on Monday. Tire marks are still visible in the grass in the 9200 block of Indian Hills Drive.  Police say a 14-year-old girl was walking to a basketball game around 4:15pm on Monday when a car veered off the road and onto the sidewalk, seriously injuring her.  The girl is now recovering at home from internal injuries, a […]

  • Clive Police Looking for Driver Who Hit a Child on Sidewalk

    CLIVE, Iowa  —  The Clive Police Department is asking for help finding a driver they say hit and injured a child on Monday. It happened at 4:18 pm in the 9200 block of Indian Hills Drive.  Clive Police say the car left the road and crossed a sidewalk before hitting the child.  The driver then fled from the scene.   • Marty Tirrell Pleads Guilty to Mail Fraud, Faces Up to 20 Years in Prison

    DES MOINES, Iowa  —  Former Des Moines sports radio host Marty Tirrell could spend up to 20 years in prison after agreeing to plead guilty to mail fraud in federal court. On Wednesday, Tirrell agreed to a plea deal with federal prosecutors in Des Moines before his case went to trial.  Tirrell is agreeing to plead guilty to a single count of mail fraud.  Nine other counts in his indictment would be dropped by prosecutors.   • Vehicular Homicide Charge Filed for November Drag Racing Death on I-235

    DES MOINES, Iowa  —  A second driver involved in a fatal accident on I-235 in November is now charged with Vehicular Homicide by Drag Racing. Devin Russell Smith, 23, was booked into the Polk County Jail on Thursday evening.  According to online court records, Smith and Dimitrious Galvan, 22, had spent the evening together drinking at Shaggy’s, a downtown Des Moines bar, before the fatal crash.   • Witness Wanted in Des Moines Homicide Investigation Now in Police Custody

    DES MOINES, Iowa  —  A man wanted on a material witness warrant in a homicide investigation is now in police custody. Police issued the warrant for Wayne Jemerigbe, 39, of Des Moines earlier on Thursday.  He was located later in the evening and taken into custody. Jemerigbe was wanted for questioning in the death of 29-year-old Karlos Goldman, Jr.  Goldman was found suffering from a gunshot wound in a truck parked in the 600 block of 18th Street in the […]

  • Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Des Moines Police Car

    DES MOINES, Iowa  —  Des Moines Police say an officer was turning at a red light when the officer hit and injured a pedestrian. It happened around 5:30 on Thursday evening at I-235 off ramp to 42nd Street.  The police officer was reportedly turning right onto 42nd at a red light when a pedestrian in the road was hit. The woman suffered minor injuries.  She is expected to be okay. The crash is under investigation.

    WINDSOR HEIGHTS, Iowa  —  The City of Windsor Heights says its controversial speeding camera will disappear next spring. The Windsor Heights City Council voted on Monday to remove the automated traffic enforcement camera on University Avenue on April 21, 2020 when the contract with a camera vendor ends.  The camera will continue to be used to catch speeders and issue citations until then.
