  • ANIMAL NEGLECT: 300 Animals Taken From Home

    300 animals are now at the Animal Rescue League tonight after being seized from a southeast Iowa home. Authorities found out this morning about the situation at a home in Drakesville. That’s about 20 miles south of Ottumwa in Davis county. Officials say there are about 30 different types of animals and some of them didn’t survive. Channel 13’s Stephanie Moore joins us live from the Animal Rescue League with the latest.

    The game is scheduled for Thursday night, July 18th with fireworks to follow at Principal Park. It’s the first time a team USA game was in Des Moines since the Americans beat Chinese Taipei in 2000.

  • STATE GOLF: Des Moines Christian Boys to Play in State Meet for Just Second Time

    The Des Moines Christian boys golf team has only been around for five years. This weekend the Lions have a shot at their first state title. DMC will play in the state meet for just the second time in the last three years The lions finished 4th in 2011. It’s a team with two seniors, a junior and three freshman. They want a 2A championship.

  • HAWKEYE FOOTBALL: First Kick-Off Time Announced

    For the first time in a long time the Hawkeyes will not play any night games under the lights at Kinnick Stadium. Today we find out the first kickoff time of the season. October 5th, homecoming against Michigan State.  No surprise this game kicks at 11 am. The Hawks have seven home games this year, I’d expect most to kick around 11 am.

    The Iowa baseball team is in search of a new head coach. Jack Dahm, the man in charge of the Hawks for the last 10 years will not have his contract renewed. In those 10 years under Dahm the Hawks only managed two winning seasons. The search for a new head coach begins immediately.
