IOWA -- Thousands of metro residents were without power Saturday, as winter weather brought freezing conditions.

At one point, MidAmerican Energy reported about 6,000 customers were without power. Power was restored to most residents throughout the evening.

In Dallas County, officials opened a warming center in anticipation of the extended outages. The warming center is located at the Dallas County Human Service Campus in Adel and will remain in service until power is restored. If you need transportation to get to the warming center, contact 515-993-9894 or 515-993-4567.

MercyOne Pleasant Hill Urgent Care was forced to closed Saturday due to a power outage.
